Mohsin Khan
Wadham College
Mohsin is a second-year undergraduate at Wadham College, where he is reading medicine. At present, he is studying for the 'Final Honours School' portion of his Bachelor of Arts degree. He is passionate about the need for humanity to unravel the diverse secrets of the universe and believes that the careful yet ardent pursuit of knowledge is crucial. He thinks that undergraduate publications - such as the Triple Helix - are much-needed in Oxford and is looking forward to The Triple Helix's success!
Felicity Soper
St Anne's College
Felicity is a first year Philosophy and French student at St. Annes College. She has nurtured an interest in the links between science and society from an early age and is particularly interested in the ethical implications of scientific development. Since starting at Oxford, she has immersed herself in student journalism and currently writes and edits for the Cherwell newspaper. Felicity is heavily involved with Batiq charity and Oxford University Mountaineering Club. She hopes that her involvement with The Triple Helix will help to strengthen the links between the scientific community and the people it affects.
Ben Wallace
Trinity College
My name is Ben Wallace and I am a 2nd year English Student at Trinity college
Oxford. Although literature and language take up most of my academic course I
have a real passion for scientific research and ethical debate. Of particular
interest to me are astrophysics, particle physics, quantum mechanics, computing
and genetics. I am an atheist and have a firm belief in the overall superiority
of the scientific method, however I am more than willing to acknowledge that
science can and will never be able to provide an objective proof.
I would like to think that my working for The Triple Helix is a result of
precise and incredibly detailed scientific knowledge. Unfortunately, though,
this is not true. My predilection for science journalism stems both from a
knowledge that I do not possess a singular scientific mind, and from a
conviction that this should not stop a person from appreciating science and
technology. Information on scientific advances and developments should be made
available and comprehensible to anyone who wants to know about them.
