Things Coming Together!
October 31st, 2007 by Jen, PresidentHello everyone! I hope everyone is preparing to have a great Halloween - with so many parties going on around Oxford, it promises to be a fantastic night for everyone. I am very pleased to report that the publication is coming along extremely well - all eight articles are now in and almost all have been sent to the Faculty Review Board for approval.
In the meantime, the committee have been working very hard to ensure that what comes out next year is a top-notch publication befitting of its status as the inaugural issue of the Oxford chapter of an international organisation. To that end, we have recruited two able and experienced individuals to design and produce the final publication. They are: Tim Monger-Godfrey and Niall Westley.
An Update
September 10th, 2007 by Jen, PresidentHello, folks! I must say its been ages since the last update, my apologies for that. Summer has been a fruitful one for OxTTH, with the literary cycle now well underway. We've had six submissions already, with more on the way. On the financial side, we're liaising with companies to secure the sponsorship which will ensure that we are on track for our January 2008 publication.
In other news, I've got a few announcements to make regarding staffing here at OxTTH. Firstly, it is my pleasure to congratulate Emma Butterfield on her appointment as co-EiC. Emma has worked really hard all summer on OxTTH and has been a great source of support and ideas for Meera and myself. It has been great to have such an enthusiastic committee member and I look forward to working more closely with Emma as our literary cycle progresses further. Secondly, we have another appointment to the OxTTH board, Neha Arora, who we welcome in her capacity as Legal Editor. She will be looking into the legalities of our publication, and with her appointment I'm sure we won't have to deal with the hounds post-publication. Last but not least, it is my pleasure to welcome Tanzeem ul Haq abroad our team in his position as Business Associate. I firmly believe that he will make a solid contribution towards securing sponsorship for OxTTH.
That's all for now, thanks for your continued support and stay tuned for more updates!
More Committee Members Appointed
June 3rd, 2007 by Jen, PresidentHello again everyone - you may have missed me in the few days without an OxTTH update, although that is probably very unlikely. Regardless, I'm back and bring some fantastic news.
After a week on intensive interviewing, I've appointed the following people to the committee of OxTTH:
Secretary: Sourav Choudhury
Science Editors: Abhishek Banjeree and Emma Butterfield
Senior Editors: Ashish Patel and Chao Quan
Marketing and PR Officer: Jason Arora and Awais Bajwa
Associate Editors: Mohsin Khan, Felicity Soper and Ben Wallace
Business Associate: Kashif Saleem and Ravi Kalia
I will add more individuals to the list once they accept / reject any offers of appointment. May I just take this opportunity to thank everyone who applied. Meeting with all of you was a most enlightening experience and the standard of applicants was so high it made selection a very difficult task. It is my feverent hope that those of you who were not offered committee positions will still take an active interest in OxTTH and participate as much as possible in order to make the journal a great success in January.
With best wishes for the coming exams,
Jen
